Company background
POLLENA-AROMA® is the oldest and biggest Polish company manufacturing perfume compounds, food flavours and synthetic bouquets and the first Polish firm that launched essential oils for aroma therapy and products based on principles applied in aromatherapy to the market.
The Enterprise was established in 1956 (we are more than 45 years old - always young but experienced) in the buildings of former yeast plant, dating back to 1902, and situated in Henryków. AROMA was to supply the entire Polish industry with flavours and aromas. At the end of 60's, the Enterprise was incorporated in the group of manufacturers producing cosmetics and chemicals belonging to the POLLENA Enterprise, which ever since, has been known under the name of POLLENA-AROMA.
From the beginning of its existence, the firm attracted the most outstanding Polish chemists, referring to the factory patron, Professor Bronisław Radziszewski, the author of the first synthesis (1876) of phenyl-ethyl alcohol - component of rose oil. Their technologies and later works developed at the laboratory in cooperation with research centres as well as broad contacts with world leaders in this line enabled extensive development of the enterprise in the years 1962-1964. Highly qualified staff and high level of production have brought the Enterprise on international markets and, beginning 1971, POLLENA-AROMA has become one of major suppliers of aroma substances in the best known perfumery businesses worldwide.
Ranking high on the world list, POLLENA-AROMA refers to a beautiful chapter in the Polish history. At the end of the 14th century, Elżbieta Łokietkówna, Queen of Hungary formulated and produced first in the history perfume with the use of alcohol, that was marketed and known across Europe under the name of "The Queen of Hungary's Water" (Aqua Reginae Hungaricae). Until 17th century, when first "Eau de Cologne" was produced, the perfume had been the most popular fragrance and remedy at all European courts and is now available at the LIBERTY store in London. In 2000, the replica of famous perfume was launched on the Polish market in exclusive box reproduced by our artists and perfume producers. "The Queen of Hungary's Water" has become one of the most prestigious products of our business undertaking. Our aromatherapy oils and cosmetics from Dr Beta® series refer to this tradition.
In 1991, POLLENA-AROMA was privatised and belongs in hundred percent to Polish shareholders. Work of 150 employees is customer oriented to give them maximum of satisfaction.
